Big Boy Bloater (not his real name of course) and his wife Lisa have become family friends. His band Big Boy Bloater & The LiMiTs have become one of my favourite bands. Check out Big Boy Bloaters website by clicking on the link in the Links section.
Without doubt my favourite DJ - from the seventies right up to now. I met Johnnie at a Steve Harley gig in 2018, I have also read his autobiography which was fascinating. A big Harley fan too!!
I had the pleasure recently in being given the job to chauffeur Nigel around The Costa Blanca on his recent visit to conduct a Q&A at an event that a friend of mine put on here. Nigel was totally different to how I expected him to be, he really is a true legend and a lovely man.
Another great boxer who I again had the job of chauffeuring when he came over to Spain to referee at a boxing event at Champs Boxing Gym. Champs Gym is owned by former British Welterweight Champion Kevin Lueshing who I feel proud to call a friend.
Ray is undoubtedly one of the greatest British songwriters of all time. I met Ray when he sort of gatecrashed a friend of mines wedding, reception (I was Best Man) at The Hilton Hotel in Maidstone, Kent..
Don't have to explain who this is... We had an 'extremely expensive' meet and greet with Ringo in Las Vegas - worth every penny though - love him.
Good Old Leapy, another lovely man. Leapy could be described as 'The Nearly man' He had a big hit with 'LITTLE ARROWS' in the early seventies and was around the major record producers and top writers of the era. However, it just didn't work out for him and he now plys his trade over on Majorca. I've read his book too!!
A pleasure to meet Jimmy in Kent, where he was due later that day to do an exhibition at my mates club. He had plenty of time for me and others who wanted to chat to him.
Bumped into Jim in Manzes Pie & Mash in Bermondsey - another one who had plenty of time to chat.
Here's me and Tommy with the lovely Gilbert O'Sullivan. Not only is Gilbert a true star and a great singer/songwriter but he is truly a great guy. He comes out after each show to meet his fans and sign autographs, no rushing with him, he'll chat all night to you!
Not the best one of me but great to meet a true icon.
Possibly one of the best Rhythm Guitarists of our time. Although Andy has his own band, he is constantly on call to Join Eric Clapton's band at a moments notice. Only seen Andy's band live once, they were good.
I met the irrepressible snooker player Willie Thorne in our favourite Indian Restaurant here in Spain, he seemed like a really nice man, happy to chat. Shortly after this photo was taken Willie passed away. He got a lot of good press over here for his charity work and I've since spoken to many people who knew him and they speak very highly of him, it was a sad time for the area when he left us.
We have become good friends with Guido over the years and regularly go to Cologne to see him in concert. On our last visit my grandson Tommy was invited to Join Guido's band on stage and played the guitar on three songs, something which brought tears to my eyes, it was a night to remember. Whenever we visit Guido it always ends up with us all going to his favourite Spanish restaurant for dinner where Guido will eat a never-ending supply of seafood! Guido showed his appreciation of our friendship when he gave me a credit on his 2016 cd MEIN HERZ and once again a mention for both me and Tommy on his 2018 cd TROST - Thank you Guido
The original keyboard player with my favourite band COCKNEY REBEL. We have now met Milton twice in Cologne and I have say that Milton is one of the coolest and nicest men I've ever met. Milton has been and still is recording and playing live with Guido's band.
My all-time favourite artist. I have been so lucky to have met Steve many times. This man has brought so much pleasure into my life through his music, he really is a LEGEND.
My kids grew up watching this man play for Chelsea Football Club where he scored an incredible 193 goals and is the current third leading goalscorer of all time at the club. Had he not been sold prematurely, he no doubt would have been the no 1. I am honoured to call Kerry my friend and I was truly amazed when my family got a mention in his recent autobiography 'Up Front' - Thanks Kerry
Former British Welterweight Champion & World IBO Welterweight Champion. I met Kevin in 2016 and have stayed friends with him ever since. He is my closest friend out here and we constantly have a laugh whenever we are together. And... he's still got it!
Another great boxer and former Bantamweight World Champion. I've known Johnny for years and all I can say is what a lovely man, always smiling.
'Mr. Nice Guy' I've met Paul a few times, always got time for me. Paul now runs the Paul Cannoville Foundation which helps young people build up life skills. His award winning book 'Black and Blue' tells the horrific story of the racism he had to endure at being the first black player to play for Chelsea Football Club. I've read this one too!!
Craig (Knighty) is one of my best mates back in the UK and a wannabe 'International DJ' Not only is he a successful business man but he thrives on this venture to succeed. We have had some laughs in the past and have many stories to tell from our ventures in Europe watching the Mighty Blues in action. Craig has easily overtook me with the amount of holidays we both have and he is definitely the 'Judith Chalmers' of our gang!! Happy Holidays Craig
Nigel Spackman - what a player this man was for Chelsea. The first stint was 1983–1987 scoring 12 goals from midfield in 141 appearances, he was the 'Engine Room' of the team. He went on to play for Liverpool, QPR and then Rangers before returning to The Mighty Blues 1992-1996 making another 67 appearances. A true legend to us Blues.
Rob Beasley is an award-winning sports writer who has enjoyed 30 years on Fleet Street and spent the last 22 years on the country's two biggest-selling newspapers. He was Chief Sports Correspondent of The Sun and before that was Chief Football writer and Chief Sports Reporter on the News of the World. I met Rob at Chelsea and we hit it off straight away, he always has time for a chat and a pint with me, a big Chelsea fan too. We must have had a good win on the day this photo was taken!!
Andy Myers was appointed Chelsea development squad head coach in the summer of 2019. He spent nine seasons as a defender with the Blues making 85 appearance and scoring 2 goals. Andy came looking for me out here in Spain 🤣 and we bumped into each other at the local go-karting track, where he was bringing the Dutch team Arnhem Vitesse for a team-building exercise, he was at the time, Assistant First Team Coach at the club, before returning to Chelsea.
